By accessing or using DOFIW, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge the linked Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms. If you use DOFIW for a company, client, school, public body, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to act for that organization where required, and “you” includes that organization.

DOFIW is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13.

What DOFIW provides

DOFIW provides focused browser-based accessibility tools, generated examples, educational articles, directories, and related explanatory content. The site currently does not require a user account to access its public resources.

The resources assist with selected questions. They do not constitute a complete accessibility audit, legal service, certification, or guarantee that a website, document, application, or process conforms to WCAG or applicable law.

Ways you may use DOFIW

Subject to these terms, you may:

• access public tools and articles for personal, educational, editorial, design, development, or internal business purposes;
• enter non-confidential test values or markup that you have the right to use;
• copy and adapt output generated specifically in response to your tool settings for use in your own projects;
• link to public DOFIW pages using accurate, non-misleading descriptions;
• quote brief portions of an article with reasonable attribution where permitted by copyright law;
• report errors, barriers, and suggestions through the contact address.

Permission applies only while you follow these terms and any additional notice displayed with a particular resource.

Do not harm, misuse, or misrepresent the service

You may not use DOFIW to:

• send malicious code, probe vulnerabilities without written authorization, bypass security controls, or interfere with availability;
• overload the site through automated requests, abusive scraping, or traffic intended to degrade service;

• present a DOFIW result as an official certification, W3C approval, legal opinion, or complete audit;

• use the contact address for spam, unrelated bulk outreach, or deceptive link-placement requests.

You control what you enter and how you use the result

You retain your rights in material you enter. You confirm that you have permission to use that material and that it does not unlawfully contain another person’s confidential, proprietary, or personal information.

Tool inputs are designed to be processed locally in the browser as described in the Privacy Policy. Local processing does not make it appropriate to paste passwords, access tokens, private customer records, protected health information, unpublished source code, or other sensitive material.

Generated output is provided without exclusivity. Similar or identical output may be produced for other users because accessibility patterns, formulas, standards, and common HTML structures are not unique. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, maintaining, and lawfully deploying everything you copy.

Articles and interfaces are not a republication library

Unless a page states otherwise, the original selection, presentation, explanatory text, graphics, interface design, styling, and underlying site code are owned by or licensed to the DOFIW operator and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These terms grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access the public website for the uses described above. They do not grant permission to reproduce full articles, remove attribution, create a confusingly similar service, sell access to a copy of DOFIW, or use DOFIW branding as your own.

Technical standards, factual thresholds, common formulas, and third-party names remain subject to their own legal status and ownership. Reference to them does not claim ownership.

Information you voluntarily send

If you send a correction, suggestion, test case, or other feedback, you give DOFIW permission to use, reproduce, adapt, and incorporate the non-confidential substance of that feedback to investigate and improve the website without payment or obligation to implement it.

This permission does not transfer ownership of unrelated material included in your message. Do not send confidential ideas or information, and do not send content that you lack permission to share.

Other services apply their own terms

DOFIW may link to external standards, documentation, products, privacy controls, or other websites. It may also display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. External destinations, advertisements, and services are operated by their respective providers and are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

A link or advertisement does not establish endorsement, accessibility approval, warranty, partnership, or control by DOFIW. You are responsible for evaluating a third-party destination before relying on it, purchasing from it, or providing information.

How information is handled

The DOFIW Privacy Policy explains local tool processing, routine visit data, email correspondence, cookies, advertising services, retention, and available privacy choices. By using the website, you acknowledge that processing described there may occur subject to applicable law and your available choices.

The service may evolve

DOFIW may add, update, limit, suspend, or remove a tool, article, output format, feature, or page. The site may also be unavailable because of maintenance, security work, provider outages, abuse, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Access may be limited or blocked when reasonably necessary to protect the website, users, providers, or legal rights, including in response to prohibited automated activity or attempts to disrupt service. No continued availability, storage, backward compatibility, or advance notice is guaranteed.

Review results before relying on them

The DOFIW Disclaimer forms part of these terms. It explains limitations involving automated checks, WCAG conformance, generated HTML, readability measures, caption calculations, external links, advertisements, warranties, and liability.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Nothing in these terms excludes a right, warranty, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Mandatory rights remain in place

These terms are interpreted under the laws applicable to the DOFIW operator and the relevant use of the website, without overriding mandatory consumer or privacy protections that apply to you. The appropriate court, regulator, or dispute process depends on applicable law and the parties involved.

Before starting a formal dispute, you are encouraged to send a clear written description of the concern to the contact address so the matter can be reviewed. This request does not limit any right to contact a regulator or use a remedy that applicable law makes immediately available.
